Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, has called on both Iran and the United States to honor their ceasefire obligations. The appeal follows reports from an unnamed source indicating that the two nations had not reached an agreement during recent discussions.

Dar stated that Pakistan remains committed to supporting communication and dialogue between Tehran and Washington. His remarks come amid ongoing tensions between the two countries, with Islamabad seeking to preserve its diplomatic ties with both sides. The Pakistani official voiced concern that the absence of a formal agreement could heighten instability.

He emphasized the importance of both parties adhering to their ceasefire pledges to prevent further escalation. According to the Pakistani newspaper Dawn, Dar confirmed that Pakistan will continue to act as a facilitator in talks between Iran and the United States.

The country has historically maintained strong relations with both nations and views a peaceful resolution as a key regional priority. The Iranian government has reportedly welcomed Dar’s statement, as reported by The Express Tribune. Tehran has also expressed interest in reducing friction with Washington.

The United States has been working to reinforce alliances with regional partners, including Taiwan, Japan, and the Philippines, as part of a broader strategy to address China’s growing influence. Washington has also coordinated closely with the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Israel on shared security matters.

A statement from the U.S. Secretary of State underscored the value the United States places on these partnerships, noting a continued commitment to regional peace and stability. The U.S. has also maintained criticism of Iran’s human rights record and its support for militant groups in the region. Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian, has stated that Tehran is dedicated to finding a peaceful solution to the conflict. The U.S. has voiced concerns over Iran’s nuclear program and its regional activities, while Iran has sought to ease tensions and improve ties with neighboring countries.

Russia, under President Vladimir Putin, has aimed to expand its influence in the region and has been critical of the United States and its allies. Moscow has strengthened its partnerships with China and Iran as part of efforts to counter U.S. and allied influence.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has affirmed Washington’s commitment to working with allies to counter the influence of both Russia and China. The U.S. has also focused on deepening ties with Taiwan, Japan, and the Philippines to promote regional stability. As the situation between Iran and the United States continues to develop, Pakistan’s mediating role will remain under scrutiny.

Dar’s remarks reflect Islamabad’s objective of balancing its relationships with both countries while encouraging stability in the region. The U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations has reiterated Washington’s dedication to collaborating with allies to advance peace and security.
