Ado Ekiti, August 23 — Emmanuel Fayose, the African Democratic Congress candidate for Ekiti Central Federal Constituency, announced his campaign team on Saturday. The committee includes 25 members, with Isaac Fayose, his brother and a businessman, serving as Director-General.

Prof. Olusola Kolapo, a former deputy governor, is the patron of the campaign outfit. Fayose, who is the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, said his decision to run for the federal seat covering Ado and Irepodun/Ifelodun local government areas stems from a desire to deliver practical representation. He emphasized that his campaign focuses on improving constituents’ lives through policy reforms and sustainable development.

Fayose described his mission as a “movement to restore governance to the people,” highlighting his commitment to translating democratic representation into tangible benefits. His campaign slogan, “Support the future, support Otunba Emmanuel Fayose for better representation,” underscores his vision.

Fayose outlined four pillars for his approach: robust advocacy, rigorous oversight, resource attraction, and citizens’ inclusion. He stressed that genuine representation should not rely on wealth or political connections but on service, competence, and empathy. “True representation cannot be bought, bartered or inherited,” he said.

“It must be earned through consistent service and a clear understanding of policy dynamics.” The campaign team features notable figures. Chief Dipo Anisulowo acts as Team Adviser, while Mr Femi Fadahunsi serves as Secretary.

Tope Apanisile leads inter-party affairs, and Alhaji Mohammed Adeleye oversees spiritual matters. Other roles include Peter Akinleye for youth affairs, Mrs Anike Ologuntoye for women’s issues, and Richard Olaolorun handling media and publicity. The list also includes Chief Dare Adekolu, Tunde Adekanbi, and others with specific responsibilities.

Fayose’s campaign aims to address what he calls a “critical crossroads” for Ekiti. He called for bold leadership and legislative action to meet the constituency’s needs.

His message resonates with a focus on equity and accountability, rejecting what he labels as “stagnant politics of the past.” The candidate’s emphasis on inclusive governance and development-oriented policies positions his bid as a contrast to previous approaches, though specific comparisons were not detailed in the announcement.
