Campaign Team Unveiled by Emmanuel Fayose
Ado Ekiti, August 23 — Emmanuel Fayose, the African Democratic Congress candidate for Ekiti Central Federal Constituency, presented his campaign team on Saturday. The announcement came as he seeks the federal seat that covers Ado and Irepodun/Ifelodun local government areas. Fayose said his motivation for running is to provide practical representation that translates democratic participation into real benefits for residents.
Composition and Leadership of the Committee
The campaign outfit consists of 25 members. Isaac Fayose, Emmanuel’s brother and a businessman, has been named Director‑General. Prof. Olusola Kolapo, a former deputy governor, serves as the patron of the team. Fayose, who is the younger sibling of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, emphasized that his candidacy is rooted in a desire to move beyond reliance on wealth or political connections and to focus on service, competence, and empathy.
Roles and Responsibilities Within the Team
Key positions have been assigned to several notable figures. Chief Dipo Anisulowo acts as Team Adviser, while Mr Femi Fadahunsi fills the role of Secretary. Tope Apanisile oversees inter‑party affairs, and Alhaji Mohammed Adeleye is responsible for spiritual matters. Youth affairs are handled by Peter Akinleye, women’s issues by Mrs Anike Ologuntoye, and media and publicity by Richard Olaolorun. Additional appointees include Chief Dare Adekolu, Tunde Adekanbi, and others, each entrusted with specific duties to support the campaign’s operations.
Vision, Slogan and Policy Pillars
Fayose’s campaign carries the slogan “Support the future, support Otunba Emmanuel Fayose for better representation.” He described his effort as a “movement to restore governance to the people,” insisting that true representation cannot be bought, bartered or inherited but must be earned through consistent service and a clear grasp of policy dynamics. To achieve this, he outlined four pillars: robust advocacy, rigorous oversight, resource attraction, and citizens’ inclusion. He stressed that genuine representation should rest on these principles rather than on financial status or connections.
Goals and Message for Ekiti Central
The candidate characterized the current situation as a “critical crossroads” for Ekiti and called for bold leadership and legislative action to meet the constituency’s needs. His message centers on equity and accountability, rejecting what he terms the “stagnant politics of the past.” By emphasizing inclusive governance and development‑oriented policies, Fayose positions his bid as a contrast to previous approaches, though he did not detail specific comparisons in the announcement. He remains committed to improving constituents’ lives through policy reforms and sustainable development, aiming to deliver tangible benefits to the people of Ekiti Central Federal Constituency.
