WASHINGTON, June 12 — The U.S. Department of War has released the third tranche of declassified Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena records under the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters, known as PURSUE. The release, posted publicly at war.gov/UFO, follows the first tranche on May 8 and the second on May 22, and contains hundreds of newly cleared documents and videos drawn from multiple agencies including the FBI, the CIA, the Department of War and the wider intelligence community.
Release 03 includes a range of notable records, among them FBI reports describing a series of Northeastern Orb Sightings from 2025 and 2026, as well as FBI and intelligence-community analyses of an unresolved 2022 UAP incident near Colorado Springs.
These files, hidden behind classifications, have long fueled justified speculation, and it is time the American people see it for themselves, said Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, calling the release part of the administration’s commitment to transparency. The Department of War has underscored that, as with previous tranches, many cases remain unresolved, and officials have stressed that unresolved does not mean extraterrestrial, with no confirmed evidence of alien craft or beings presented.
A 1949 U.S.
Army Flying Saucer Study and a 2008 CIA memo describing a high-alert posture tied to perceived aggressive foreign activity in Harare, Zimbabwe, are also among the highlighted records. These releases are part of a rolling declassification effort ordered by President Donald Trump and coordinated by the Department of War with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
Officials have confirmed that additional materials will continue to be posted as records are located and declassified.
